An ancient plant form dating back to the pre-historic era, ferns use spores instead of flowers to reproduce. Our Fern Spore Blossoms tile design takes its inspiration from a microscopic image of fern spores, using the imagery of the fern spore graphic to create a 4-tile pattern repeat.  This style of ceramic tile patterning, along with the cuerda seca glazed technique, dates back to 14th century Persia and Spain.  The Spanish brought this tile technique to California, where we are still using it today to fabricate our tiles! Designed and produced in Los Angeles, with clay sourced regionally, and fired in all-electric kilns.
